    The Domestic Violence Legal Service (DVLS) is a free service for victims and people at risk of domestic and family violence in the Greater Darwin region. DVLS provides free confidential legal advice on applying for a domestic violence order; varying or revoking an existing domestic violence order, and referrals to support services and other legal services.  DVLS also provides legal representation through our duty lawyer service at the Darwin Magistrates Court.

    Clients should call to make an appointment for a free session in Darwin or Palmerston. A duty lawyer service is available at the Darwin Magistrates Court on Fridays for a weekly domestic violence list

    Top End Women's Legal Service (TEWLS)

    Provides free and confidential legal advice for women on family law, domestic and family violence, housing and tenancy, debt, superannuation and estates, employment law, sexual assault, discrimination, compensation for victims of crime and other civil law areas eg complaints about government agencies and procedures.
    Outreach services are provided to Palmerston, Knuckeys Lagoon, Bagot, Belyuen, Palmerston Indigenous Village, Acacia, the Adult Migration Education Program and Darwin Prison. Limited casework assistance is available.
