Migrant and Refugee Assistance

Multicultural Council of NT works with migrant and refugee communities. Financial assistance (vouchers) for clients experiencing economic hardship can be provided.

Intensive Family Support Service

Families eligible for this program have a child (0-12) that has been identified as at high risk or experiencing neglect. Families are referred by Territory Families; these families are also subject to Child Protection Income Management. Working closely with the Parenting Research Centre, Family Support Workers provide an intensive family support model that works with families to prove parenting skills and provide better outcomes for children.

Emergency Relief

Assist homeless people with food, clothing, bedding and hygiene packs.

24 Hour Domestic Violence Crisis Centre

DAIWS has 24 hour domestic violence crisis centre for women and children.

Transitional Care

Provides transitional accommodation and support for adults following drug and alcohol withdrawal and rehabilitation in order to help them sustain a successful transition back into the community.

Alcohol and Other Drugs Rehabilitation Service

Rehabilitation services for Indigenous people in the Katherine area including work therapy and group counselling. Accommodation is provided during the rehabilitation program.

Rehabilitation Day Program

A day program for those not living at the centre but wishing to participate in counselling and therapy sessions.
