The Council works to improve the quality of life for families in the region by assisting with the establishment of appropriate health, education, cultural, artistic and social services for Indigenous women.
Multicultural Council of NT works with migrant and refugee communities. Financial assistance (vouchers) for clients experiencing economic hardship can be provided.
Families eligible for this program have a child (0-12) that has been identified as at high risk or experiencing neglect. Families are referred by Territory Families; these families are also subject to Child Protection Income Management. Working closely with the Parenting Research Centre, Family Support Workers provide an intensive family support model that works with families to prove parenting skills and provide better outcomes for children.
Provides transitional accommodation and support for adults following drug and alcohol withdrawal and rehabilitation in order to help them sustain a successful transition back into the community.
Rehabilitation services for Indigenous people in the Katherine area including work therapy and group counselling. Accommodation is provided during the rehabilitation program.
