Bush Adventure Therapy Program

An early intervention program providing weekly, overnight and two-week adventure bush trips and camps. The program works to prevent youth homelessness; drug, alcohol and sniffing misuse and disconnection of young people from their school, family and community.

Transitional Aftercare

Managed outreach service and after care service for those with alcohol or other drug problems.

Residential Rehabilitation Centre

Provides accommodation in a residential treatment centre for those with alcohol or other drug problems.

Sobering-Up Shelter

An overnight accommodation shelter is available for those who need to sober up following drug and alcohol misuse.

Drug and Alcohol Counselling

Individual support services built around assessment, counselling and case management.

Withdrawal Program - Darwin

Supervised residential withdrawal is available to men and women, aged 18 years and over, who are seeking to withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs. Withdrawal is co-managed with Alcohol & Other Drug Services (Department of Health NT) or with client’s Doctor who will provide medical supervision during withdrawal period. Withdrawal timeframes vary and can last up to 2 weeks however most clients are admitted for 5 to 7 days. All clients are assigned a Case Manager who provides information, counseling and support during withdrawal.

Sunrise Drugs and Alcohol Service

Provides a 12 week program for residential and non-residential male and female clients with counselling, case management and referrals to other drug and alcohol networks.

Mental Health and Wellness

Top End Mental Health Consumer Organisation (TEMHCO) has now been in operation for over 20 years and has undergone several major changes since the change of management in November 2018. Our aim is to be the leading consumer-run mental health provider in Palmerston and its rural areas. We also provide high quality social and emotional support and advocacy service to individuals with a mental illness. We are registered as an NDIS Provider and will work towards creating an environment that has appropriate accreditation.

Community Association

Provides accommodation, social security and municipality services for aboriginal residents of two communities within Katherine. Association programs include alcohol rehabilitation programs, sport, recreation, community patrol, a community store, building, construction and family activities.

Mount Theo Respite Outstation

Provides a traditional program of substance abuse treatment for petrol sniffing and offers respite to break the cycle of sniffing. The program particularly assists Warlpiri Indigenous children, young people and adults.
