Tenancy Support Program

The MHACA Tenancy Support Program assists people who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing due to mental health difficulties. It is a participant-centred case management service with a focus on achieving sustainable tenancies tailored to individuals living with severe and persistent mental health issues.

The Tenancy Support Program develops a tailored plan to meet the specific needs of individuals and to help sustain their tenancies including through tenancy support, advocacy, case management, financial planning and referrals to other services.

The Katherine Doorways Hub

The Katherine Doorways Hub is a drop-in centre and community space supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Katherine region. As well as a safe and friendly place to come and relax in the air conditioning, at the Hub you can access food (soup every day at 11am), washing machines and dryers, clothes, showers, sanitary products and cold water. Tea, coffee or toast can be purchased from The Beacon for 50c. The Salvation Army emergency relief runs from the Hub Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am -10:30am.

Tenancy Support Services

The program provides support services to eligible tenants of Territory Housing who are experiencing issues with keeping their housing and support independent living.

Aherlkeme Development Centre

This is a 12 month program that provides transitional accommodation and support to eligible participants as approved and referred by Territory Housing who are experiencing issues with housing and homelessness. There is a signficant emphasis on case management to provide skills for living in the communtiy and to assist residents in independent living.

Mission Australia Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Service

The Mission Australia Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Service is a person-centred residential program in Darwin, NT. The service provides day and therapeutic services and programs for people with alcohol and other drug addictions including volatile substance misuse while addressing the impact of substance misuse on people's mental health and wellbeing.

Financial Capability & Well Being Hub

This service assists all people in financial difficulty through helping them to address their financial problems, make better choices and build long term capacity to budget and manage money.

The hub services include:

Financial Counsellors help to resolve personal financial difficulties, advocacy on behalf of clients concerning debts & financial issues and assist to manage and make informed choices available on appointment; and

Emergency Relief

This is available for clients in financial distress or hardship and have limited means or resources. Assistance is offered in the form of food, blankets, financial literacy and financial counselling.

In Alice Springs Lutheran Care provides community services on behalf of the Lutheran Church of Australia under the Vision of ‘Working together to change lives and build caring, resilient communities.’

 

 

Critical Intervention Outreach Service

The Critical Intervention Outreach Service will provide:
Victim advocacy
Support at appointments
Referral to Counselling
Casework and Case Management
Proactive and targeted outreach support (Eg, Court, hospital, home)
Individualised Safety Plans
Referral to Parenting Support
Referral and assistance to crisis accommodation
