House 49 - 49 Mitchell Street, Darwin City, NT

House 49 provides medium to long-term (up to 24 months) accommodation for individuals and couples over 25 years old at risk of homelessness. House 49 has Limited Doubled Rooms for couples only. 

Residents have access to our Street 2 Home, Door Ways, and Positive Lifestyle programs all designed to assist people back into Community and out of poverty and homelessness.

Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program

The Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program is a collaboration of complementary services and agencies that is establishing co-located specialist supports such as Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug, Health Care, and other specialist homelessness providers. Mission Australia provides client engagement and case coordination services, as well as throughcare for people who are either living in, or accessing services at the YiSSA facility.

The provision of the accommodation and meals for resident clients is via YiSSA.

Affordable Housing

YWCA National Housing are a national women's housing provider.

In Darwin/Palmerston we have a number of affordable housing properties.

Safer in the Home

The National Safer in the Home (based in Victoria) Program provides victim-survivors with a comprehensive personal and property safety assessment and basic security upgrades (CCTV not available for funding) to eligible women who chose to remain in their property. Priority is given to professional/service led referrals.

Community Legal Service

At CAWLS we provide free and confidential legal assistance to all women in Central Australia. CAWLS also has a drop-in service for women experiencing or at risk of experiencing Domestic Violence.

We provide information and advice on a range of civil law areas including; Domestic Violence, Child Protection, Family Law(divorce, property & children), Tenancy, Employment, Discrimination, Credit & Debt, Complaints and Victims of crime applications.

Healthy Families 12 week residential rehabilitation and Children's program

CAAPS AOD 12 Week Residential Program focuses on providing individuals and families with a safe and supportive environment to address substance use issues. The Healthy Families program is made up of a range of education sessions and activities that cover substance use, healthy lifestyles, livelihood, cultural sessions, trauma and healing, and family relationships including parenting. In addition to this, participants of the program have access to onsite counselling, specialist counselling, peer support groups, housing and livelihood support.

Alternative to Custody

Alternative to Custody is a 10-bed residential rehabilitation facility that offers a 26-week program for eligible Aboriginal women over the age of 18 at risk of offending or reoffending.
